THE JOURNAL
On quiet objects, and the discipline of leaving things out.
A conversation with our atelier in Cadore on what gets removed before a frame is finished — and why luxury, for us, has always been a question of restraint.
The craftsmen who finish our frames have been doing this for three generations. They do not rush. They do not cut corners in materials. And they have a phrase they use when a frame comes back from the tumbler for the final time: "È già abbastanza." It is already enough.
That is the whole philosophy of AUREL in four words. A frame that is already enough. That does not need another detail, another flourish, another reason to exist. It exists because it is well made and it is beautiful and it fits a face correctly.
Nothing more.
